Jelly Palm
Butia Capitata
The Butia Capitata (Jelly Palm) is a mid-size evergreen palm with a stout solitary trunk topped with blue-green to gray-green leaves that curve in towards the trunk, creating a slightly weeping effect.
It is called a jelly palm because its fruit is full of pectin and therefore used to thicken jams and jellies. It is also used to make wine in some parts of the world.
Height
Grows approx 5 m high, and 6 m wide. Cut dead fronds off only when completely brown as they continue to transfer nutrients to the new fronds.

Best in full sun but will tolerate part shade well. High wind tolerant
Water
Requires little moisture once established and is drought tolerant.
